BBH Forums have shifted to a dedicated server, a REAL dedicated server (in a shiny data centre with lots of padlocks and air conditioners, also fibre) so you should notice a large improvement in speed and reliability of the site as it's now hooked up to multiple redundant fibre links and all that kind of jazz.


Bad

BBH database suffered from some slight corruption due to charsets getting messed up somewhere between my server and rage's server, its probably my fault it happened, but fact remains that there's some slight damage to some of the posts, it seems the ' and " symbols were converted into some strange ascii code and if you try to edit an old post that has suffered this corruption you will get an error because the database wont allow you to save the weird characters back into the database, it is apparently a one way street for those , I could pretend I knew more about mysql and bullshit to you but quite simply I don't, so if you get a DB error, and your editing or quoting an old post, check for weird non-english characters and remove them, appart from that, the data is fine and we should not get any more errors from large posts and such

BBH has decided to run a clan again, and we are opening applications to join the BBH CSS Clan Ranks, this is will be a competitive clan so if you can't keep up with the pack then its probably not for you.

Currently ALL Clan activities will be managed by Slaughter and his 2IC Darkcraft, please direct any questions towards them. DevoiD would like to push the point HEAVILY that the BBH CSS Clan is NOT the be all and end all of BBH and is simply BBH Community members forming a competitive clan, being high-ranked in the clan does not mean you have swagger over the rest of the community and clan discussion and organisation is to stay within the confines of the Clan Forum located in the CSS area of the BBH forums. If you are a member of the community, it does not mean you are a clan member. All clan members are required to wear the BBHC | tag, the BBH | tag is still reserved purely for BBH Community Server Admins.

PLAYXPERT opened up their beta today, if you don't know what it is , check it out, basically its like steam friends in game, except there's a whole bunch of widgets and stuff so you can use msn and the FULL internet, instead of valves locked off internet (god why did they do that) some of you may remember me posting about it before and being disappointed they pulled their first version away, but huzzah the new version is finally here!

So yeah, updated the server today, mass addon implosion, I'm just going to start deleteing addons until it works again... at this stage you cant spawn anything and none of the admin stuff works... yay

Updates to the phpbb3 back end (the program that the bbh website runs on) have killed the newer theme, so for now we have rolled back to an old version... bare with me, I've decided that I'm going to completely clean out BBH and get rid of a lot of junk code that's floating around, mostly stuff that is left over from old versions of the site and/or phpbb3 and has never been deleted, let me know if you cant get into something and I'll fix it asap

The fact that the server that surf currently resides in is going to die in a few days bought to my attention a shocking conclusion that had more or less been floating around in my sub-conscience for quite some time.

That conclusion is that I'm not sure I really care at this stage if surf dies... I mean, I'm never on it, and its mostly full if people I hate and ban... It costs a lot of money to run, about 5 times the amount of money than a normal server for example due to its extreme popularity among the morons that the surf scene is teaming with. Maybe its time BBH moved on from the jock-football-moron socially popular surf "crutch" that we have been clinging too for so long and actually get back to the core of what we were all about, primarily, custom modifications of the source engine and having a good time playing around. I'm tired of getting owned by campers with rediculously over powered and easy to aim portable sniping Cannon's (ie the awp) from 3 kilometres away hiding behind an invisible fortresses floating in the sky, whilst we careen down a metal ramp on an invisible surf-board at 3000 meters a second towards a teleporter that will deposit our heads directly into the cross-hairs of said awp....

I don't know, what does everyone think, do we really CARE if surf leaves BBH forever? and if we do, does anyone have $70 a month worth of care or an un-used ADSL2+ connection just screaming to keep it running?

Hey guys just letting you know that the latest update to GMOD broke it again.......as of 2 hours of the update being released there has been over 1000 posts on garrys facepunch forum about the problem.
