- DevoiD founder of BIGBIGHUGE.COM HISTORY OF BBH This is a rough grouping together of most peoples understanding of how BBH came about, I'm not saying the record is definitively straight, but it's at least attained a somewhat permanence to its crooked tale. The beginning In 1997 whilst attending high school, young DevoiD, at this stage known as Dave, BigDave or "Hey Jerkface" to his loving classmates, noticed that the inter web was giving out free domain names, being 14, and seeing that hooters.com and boobies.com were both already taken, a poll was taken of classmates in the vicinity of the computer station he was sitting at, the deciding vote was given by Michael Peattie, long time friend and offsider to Dave. Once BIGBIGHUGE.COM's power was placed neatly into his hands, It was pointed to a geocities site that was somewhat reminiscent of Homer J Simpson's first attempt at making a website. (imagine every single spam mail you ever received, multiply them by 10 and jam them all together on 1 page with a link to holden and planet quake). Later it turned out he would have to pay for it when a letter arrived from the US of A, address to "Sir David Boobies Campbell", the letter was of course ignored and thrown in the trash and BBH quickly disappeared Several Days Later + 2 years BBH was res-erected from the ashes and surged forward as a blog and a forum and some other junk... mostly a showcase for Q2 maps and dodgey flash animations. This time it was slightly more successful than before, but still sucked, and Dave retained the domain mostly because it was an odd email address that raised eyebrows. 2005 DevoiD has a brilliant idea about making an online community, then got drunk and forgot about it. the next day he made a CSS server at his house, due to the marvels of ADSL2+ . BBH Custom maps by DevoiD start featuring on the server, then a forum grew from that, and etc etc now theres a clan and all kinds of stuff going on. So now you know. IRC: IRC.BIGBIGHUGE.COM |
